Musings... Broken Vessels?
And we are broken vessels.
Broken, as we are far from perfect, far from exemplifying
the righteousness of God. We are rebellious, sinful, lifting our souls to
transient names and dilapidated fortresses that ironically will collapse.
Vessels, as we have been given the incomprehensible and
undervalued privilege to be used by God in this world. Our every breath is
sustained by Him, and our every breath should be devoted to Him: Neither just
in intellectual acknowledgement, nor simply in tongue-concocted declarations,
but in action grounded in unshakable faith. We live subjected to a lovely
paradox – that though to Him we are insignificant half-specks of dust, we are
significant and (ever more astoundingly) set apart for a purpose in His Will.
We are broken, yet we are
honourably appointed as His vessels.
Today many of us including
myself are receptacles stocked with unnecessary contents, like tin cans of food
that will never last, but will instead rot and mean nothing. In order to truly
embrace our purpose to life as His vessel, we must empty ourselves and allow
Him to work in and through us. We are not perfect vessels, but we are to be
vessels nonetheless, to our maximum capacity and relying upon His strength.
What will you do today to be His
vessel?

Truly blessed have I been throughout the first few months of 2016. Truly blessed have I been, in fact, throughout all my 17 years of life so far. God has been faithful and will always be faithful. He continues to work within me and through me. He continues to work through other people to touch my life and to guide me with their words. Really, there is no more trustworthy Shepherd of My Soul.
(No matter how many times I seem to iterate words like in the above paragraph, I truly mean everything I say. For words can only in vain attempt to semantically capture my thankfulness to God.)
I would write a greater quantity and in more detail about what's happened so far in 2016, but unfortunately I don't quite have the time at the moment. Will do, when I can. :)

(Food)tnote for thought:
What lasting thing can this world give you? Does the world offer anything that comes close to eternal value?
Truly, truly, truly, truly, truly... It is so unfortunate that human beings search for lasting security in material wealth and academic grades, when they so easily overlook God who breathed life into them and continues to sustain each subsequent breath, and who holds ETERNITY in HIS VERY HANDS.
And it is simply a magnificent privilege to have my heart at least slightly broken for what breaks God's heart.
